Through out the last few weeks i have been trying and trying to learn more and more signs each day, but once i learn new ones i forget the old ones that i have learned. Throughout this time trying this, i realized that American Sign Language is actually quiet hard to learn and i give props for those that learned it. Some of the good things about my project is i have learned some ASL, and next time i try to learn more i'm going to learn and practice with someone else to maybe make it a little bite easier.
I have finally been able to ask basic questions like "How are you" and "Wheres the bathroom". These are the most basic and frequently used questions. I have also learned to say yes,no please, thank you, etc...
Its been a week now and i am already coming across a lot of problems trying to remember these signs. Trying to remember even the basic question words has become a problem. Between work and school, i haven't had a ton of time to practice these.
For my genius hour project I have decided to try and learn the basics to American Sign Language. I have always wanted to learn, but i never fully committed. So far, all I can do is spell my name. By the end of the school year i wish to be able to say basic everyday things in sign language. For me to achieve this i will practice for a half hour a day learning new signs for things.
